By the way, hello, I'm David. My own journey to a place of real peace and purpose is the entire reason this program exists.

When I look back, my life feels like a story in three parts.

First, there was the "Mad Men" era. I had this super successful, high-flying career in advertising. You can imagine the lifestyle. Enough said!

Then came the Land That Time Forgot. That's where I developed a dependency on alcohol. The dark period nobody talks about at parties.

And now, the Back to the Future phase. This is where I am now, where I found my real calling as a practitioner, coach, and advocate for a better way.

Going through all of that showed me something important: traditional formal addiction services don't click for everybody. They certainly didn't for me.

Traditional recovery tells you you're powerless. They ask you to surrender. They want you to identify as an alcoholic forever.

For some people, that works. But for a lot of intelligent, capable people? It doesn't resonate.

You don't feel powerless. You feel stuck.

You don't need to surrender. You need a better strategy.

I needed something different - something more empowering, less clinical. I looked for it. I really did. But I couldn't find it.

So I built it.

My approach to all this stands on two foundations.

On one hand, there's my lived experience. I've been in the trenches. I understand what it's like to feel trapped by alcohol, to try to change and fail, to wonder if you'll ever get free.

On the other, there's solid professional knowledge. I've trained with organisations like Forward Leeds, IPHM, and the Recovery Coach Academy to make sure this approach is not only empathetic but also safe and incredibly effective.

It's that blend of heart and head that really makes it work.
